The 2023 growing season was an EPIC season! Filled with plenty of challenges in the summer — lots of rain, high humidity and lots of heat. In September, the season flipped on its head and we were given the most beautiful ripening season. Grapes showed amazing concentration of flavour and great retention of acidity. The best!
Here, whole cluster Gewürztraminer was fermented using carbonic maceration before being pressed and fermented in stainless steel. Fermented naturally and bottled without any sulphur or other additions. Blended with a small amount of juice at bottling to create effervescence on the palate. Unfiltered.
Very tropical on the palate — all sorts of mango, passion fruit and clementine — expressive but poised with great backing acidity. This would be a really fun wine to pair — meats sous vide, Thai BBQ or really great carpaccio or mortadella. A really floral, clean, refreshing finish.
