HONESTY & CRAFT
We make uncompromising low-intervention wines. Each wine tells the story of site and vintage with honesty. 100% Wild Ferments. Zero Filtration.
WINES of the MONTH CLUB!
Each month, Mackenzie curates our Wine Club around a theme. Each is a showcase of wines that are raw, surprising, textural and beautiful — ours and other’s!
CLASSIC. ESOTERIC. TEXTURE & CHARACTER.
Regardless of wine & style — Chardonnay, Riesling, Cab Franc, Orange Wine, Nouveau or Pét Nat Sparklings, each of our wines is made with the same low-intervention ethos & care: wild fermentations, no additions; no subtractions.
Risk taking. So f-ing clean and pure.
John Szabo, MS
In musical terms, [Mackenzie] could be considered the Coltrane of winemaking, a disruptor of rules and exploring the outer edges of normalcy.
Wine made in miniscule quantities by passionate, risk-taking people.
A RESPECT FOR SITE
If you want to make really great wine that reflects where it comes from, you have to start with fruit that’s amazing. Low-intervention starts in the field with organic and wholistic practices in mind and working with other like-minded growers in PEC or Niagara. Each wine we craft reflects its own unique terroir.
NO ADDITIONS, NO SUBTRACTIONS
“Great wines are not simple — the aromatics are complex, changing and opening with time, while the palate is layered, flavours are plentiful and finish long.”
— Mackenzie Brisbois
ORANGE WINES: FLAVOUR & TEXTURE
Fermenting whites on skins from 2 weeks to 1 year can create beautiful texture, adding tannin and augmenting flavour. It’s a theme covered in Simon J Woolf’s book about Orange Wine: Amber Revolution. We are also one of only three Canadian wineries to be featured!
